Brockport Summer Arts FestBrockport, NY is located 20 minutes west of Rochester on the Erie Canal. It is filled with Victorian homes, bed-and-breakfasts, shade-lined streets, historic museums, and a real old-fashioned downtown. The Brockport Summer Art Festival takes place along 10 blocks of downtown Brockport, starting at the Erie Canal.
Over 100 artists and exhibitors display at this Juried arts and crafts show, held August 8 and August 9, 2009. There is also festival food and music at two stages. Saturdays feature "Cool Kids" activities and on Sundays there is also a Farmer's Market, wine tasting with Finger Lakes wineries, cooking demonstrations from Wegman's and the popular Duck Derby. About 25,000 attend over the two-day event.
Artist and Exhibitor booths are set up back-to-back in the middle of the street in groups of four, so that everyone has two open sides. The street is closed to traffic during the event. Admission is free to the public. Parking is on side streets and several nearby free lots.
The show is hosted by the Brockport Integrated Service Clubs Organization, a volunteer-run civic organization, and produced by the Springut Group.
