WELCOME SKATERS AND FRIENDS
Skate the Bay organizers will host one of the premier speed skating events in the world and, in the process, raise funds for worthy causes including the Rochester Speed Skating Team (RSST) www.rochesterspeedskating.org and the Gliding Stars www.glidingstars.org.
RSST is extremely excited to announce the debut of Skate the Bay, a world-class speed skating marathon event being held in Webster, New York on February 9-10, 2008.
Power. Stamina. Discipline. Strength. Agility. Flexibility. Speed.
Seven words that highlight the exhilarating sport called speed skating.
We look forward to hosting many of the greatest names on the marathon speed skating circuit, on the beautiful, frozen shores of Irondequoit Bay- creating a world-class event that will be enjoyed for years to come.
Regardless of your level of expertise, Skate the Bay has something for you. Don your skates and join us for a community celebration of winter! Competitive events for the public include 1km and 5km races and the track is open to the public each day for open skate and family skate.
Come out, enjoy a winter carnival of food and fun in the great outdoors, and cheer on your favorite skater!

The recordings also include Arab musicians, traditional Yemenite vocalists, a toaster and percussionist from Suriname and a South African singer, among others. While recent headlines are dominated by news of conflict and war in the Middle East, an Israeli musical collaborative has achieved success by looking beyond intercultural differences and celebrating the value of diversity. Infusing a blend of traditional Ethiopian folk music, Arabic poetry, Yemenite chants, Biblical psalms and Caribbean rhythms, The Idan Raichel Project has created an unparalleled musical experience that has taken the world by storm. The music of the Idan Raichel Project is available worldwide through the record label Cumbancha.

The Park Ave Summer Art Fest has been one of Rochester's favorite and most lively events since 1976. This year's festival will be no exception. The Park Ave Fest, as it is referred to by the locals, will take place on August 2 and August 3, 2008 along one and a quarter miles of Park Avenue near downtown Rochester, NY, from Alexander Street to Culver Road. The tree-lined avenue is a mixture of Victorian residential homes and apartments, small businesses, restaurants and cafes.
Over 300 artists and exhibitors from 21 states and Canada exhibit at this juried arts and crafts show. There is also festival food and music at three stages. Member merchants along the avenue are also allowed to display their wares in front of their stores.

The 15th Annual Brockport Summer Art Festival will be held August 9 and August 10, 2008 in Brockport, NY. Located 20 minutes from Rochester on the banks of the Erie Canal, the Brockport Festival features 100 artists, music, food, jazz and wine tasting, Cool Kids activities and the popular Duck Derby. It is hosted by the Brockport Integrated Service Clubs Organization.
