The Rochester Lilac Festival has been the harbinger of spring in Rochester for over 100 years. The 2021 festival runs for three weekends in May, with shows every weekend!


The festival is held in the renowned Highland Park, which features the largest variety and display of lilacs in North America.

Art in the Park takes place along Reservoir Avenue, a shaded street adjacent to the lilac gardens and the main festival site. Booths are set up on the curb back across the sidewalk, leaving the street open for shoppers. The street is closed to traffic during the festival hours of 10:30-6 on Saturday and 10:30-5 on Sunday and open to artists only during set-up and tear-down. Free parking for artists is on adjacent streets, with staff on golf carts providing rides. Shoppers may access Art in the Park at either end of the show.

For 2021, all 2020 accepted artists are automatically accepted UPON THE SUBMISSION OF 2021 APPLICATION, pending spaces available.  2020 artists will be assigned spaces first and are first on any wait lists.

A panel of respected local artists juries new entries to the show.  New artists are required to send a photograph of themselves in their workshop creating their art. There is a mixture from fine art to crafts, but no buy and sell is allowed.

Amenities to the show are preferred hotel rates, drive-up load in and load out, free parking, a continental breakfast on Sunday morning and our amazing Block Captains who are there to help you as needed.

Only those who are the hands-on makers of their work may participate in Art in the Park at the Rochester Lilac Festival. NO BUY/SELL is permitted. Select which category you will be applying under. You may apply in more than one category but they must be related and cohesive, such as glass and jewelry (made of glass only) AND you need to apply separately, with a separate set of photographs, for each category.

If you are a returning applicant to the Lilac Festival – please log into your account with the email and password created last year. We encourage you to submit new photos for the Jury.


  • There is a $15 non-refundable application fee.
  • The booth fee is $175 for each 10’x10′ space, for each weekend. Double booths are twice the cost of a single.
  • Applications are not accepted after March 1, 2021. THAT IS A FINAL DEADLINE
  • You will NOT be paying online. At the end of the application you will be prompted to “Print Entry”. You will mail this signed entry along with a SEPARATE check for your $15 application fee, which will be deposited upon receipt, and SEPARATE booth fee checks for each weekend applied for.  The booth fee checks will be deposited on April 8, after acceptance notices have been sent.
