ABOUT THE PERFORMER

Significant Other

Significant Other is a blues based rock band from Rochester, NY. The band plays original music and adapted covers. The members of the band are vocalist Champagne Brown, guitarist/ Mickey Ames, electric violinist/vocalist Perrin Yang, keyboard player Stephen Siegel, saxophonist Zac Walker , drummer Alfie Encina and bass player Glenn William.

Perrin Yang also performs as the fourth seat violinist with the RPO. Stephen Siegel, has played in many jazz, pop and R&B bands, plays Hammond B3 organ as well as piano. Zac Walker, on the horn, is also recognized as the sax player for the Dirty Bourbon Blues band. Guitarist Mickey Ames graduated from GIT in Hollywood, CA . Also a singer/songwriter, Ames plays electric and acoustic guitar, bottleneck slide, pedal steel guitar and piano. Drummer, Alfie Encina is the long-time percussion mainstay for Teagan and the Tweeds

Vocalist, Champagne Brown, has been singing since she was 6 years old in the church choir.  Her vocals are reminiscent of Amy Winehouse, Adele, Tina Turner and Janis Joplin. Bassist Glenn William, who holds down the low end, has written the lyrics and music for the band’s originals and serves as the band’s manager.

With a variety of tastes and different musical backgrounds, Significant Other creates a unique musical style.  Comparisons are made with acts such as Susan Tedeschi, B.B. King, Van Morrison, the Allman Brothers Band and Grace Potter.  Significant Other is currently performing distinctive covers as well originals at select venues in New York State, Chicago and Michigan.
